Solid Gold
Solid gold is just that - entirely made of gold - inside and out! There are various Karats of gold - which is the percentage of 24k gold in the jewelry piece. (Ex: 10k, 14k or 18k) Solid gold is the most expensive option, generally 5 to 10 times pricier than gold-filled, but it is also the most durable. These pieces generally last forever!

Gold-filled jewelry consists of a thick layer of real gold mechanically bonded to a metal base (usually brass or bronze). GOld Plated
Gold-plated is the least expensive alternative, therefore uses the least amount of gold in it's manufacturing. It is created using a very thin layer of gold, electroplated over a base metal (usually brass or silver). Even though this is the most cost effective option, the gold plating can easily scratch and be worn off. It will look pretty for awhile, but does not pass the test of time and we don't want that for you - which is why we don't carry this type of jewelry.

how to Care for your jewelry
The following tips are meant to help you keep your gold and silver jewelry in tip-top shape. There are many factors that you need to consider, but keep in mind that I wear my jewelry EVERY.SINGLE.DAY (and sometimes I sleep with it on) and I have had no issues with it! With just a few simple steps you can rest assured that your jewelry will last many-many years using the following guidelines!
Use A polishing cloth
To keep your gold and sterling silver jewelry looking great, gently remove make-up and oils from your pieces using a soft jewelry polishing cloth, (which we include in your order). You can even use a soft piece of flannel or a lens cleaning cloth if you need to. Do this as often as you like or only when you notice your jewelry is needing a little spiffing up!

Your jewelry is built to last.... BUT certain beauty products can cause the finish to suffer. The worst of these beauty supplies includes sunscreen, hairspray, perfume and some lotions. Our advice - put your jewelry on after you have applied your beauty products, then you shoud be just fine!!
CLeaning products
Using harsh cleaning chemicals on your jewelry is also a No-No! If you are using cleaning products that may come in contact with your jewelry, be sure to clean it off immediately. You can give them a quick rinse in luke warm water with a mild dish soap and then dry them off really well. Use your polishing cloth to touch them up!
Hot tubs & The Ocean
Let the party begin!! The Hot tub is one of my favorite places!! - BUT - the chemicals in hot tubs and pools are nasty!! They have the potential to ruin your jewelry! Our advice is to take your jewelry off before you get in! This will preserve its' beauty and you will be very glad you did! The other fun spot....A beach by the Ocean - BUT - the salty water is NOT jewelry friendly eihter andit will cause corrosion and tarnishing! Just don't take the chance! If you happen to forget to take off your treasured pieces - don't panic, just gently rinse them using clean non-clorinated water and a little mild dish soap and then dry them off!
Your Body chemistry
This one is so hard to pin down because we all have a little bit of a different body chemistry!! Another one of God's little miracles! This is tricky- because our hormones run different - we sweat differently and our skin types can be oily or dry. BUT - here again - you know your body best!! If you have never had any issues with your jewelry in the past (92% of people) then you should not have any issues!! If you are in the other 8% then most likely you are already aware of it and your jewelry may require more cleaning and polishing to keep it looking nice! Just that simple!
Personal Testimony
We were inspired to build this jewelry by a "Vintage Gold Bead" Necklace that my daughter found on Etsy. She loved this vintage piece - the problem - there was only one....and of course we all wanted one. This inspired a mission that turned into "Glory & Ore Designs". Now we build the same type of jewelry (and more) that we fell in love with. TESTIMONY - TRUE STORY - I wear my jewelry every day!! I take it off to shower and to clean, but other than that I wear it constantly!! AND I constantly get compliments! I very rarely have to clean it and it still looks like new!
